Until I did this work using an outline of my own body and facing my feelings about my body by looking into my own eyes in a mirror I had never been able to stand my body.  Now I am filled with love for this dear friend.  Mindful Mirroring is a profound way to relate to oneself."

MINDFUL MIRRORING: MEETING SOUL IN MATTER
"When you don't know what matters most to you,
that will then become the matter with you."

This exploration will be continued the next day evoking the profound wisdom of the heart with Sacred Play. Using movement, journals and a variety of interactive experiences we will learn the many energetic and cellular differences between males and females and how this contributes to Jung's concept of the masculine and the feminine and the conundrum we call relationship. Symptoms and symbols will come alive for us as we explore the multiple languages of soul--of the psyche via our heart's desires and the symbols of our dreaming psyche. Please bring your journal, a hand mirror large enough to see your own eyes, and wear loose comfortable clothing to move in.

Dr. Paula Reeves is a well-known lecturer, author and mythographer in the fields of psychology and spirituality. A therapist in private practice in Atlanta, Georgia, she has led retreats in Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, England, Australia, Canada and the United States. She has presented her work on intuition and the body at the Jung Institut in Kusnacht. A colleague of Marion Woodman's for over fifteen years, she leads retreats with Dr.  Woodman as a member of the BodySoul Rhythms Canadian team. Author of two books, Women's Intuition: Unlocking the Wisdom of the Body and Heart Sense: Unlocking Your Highest Purpose and Deepest Desires, she has an enduring interest in the relationship between spirit and matter leading her to work with the metaphors of both the body and the psyche. She has refined this work as an annual lecturer with Journey into Wholeness for over twenty-two years.  The founder of Spontaneous Contemplative Movement and Mindful Mirroring™ she teaches participants in her retreats and lectures how to listen to the wisdom of the body and follow the directions of the embodied feminine, of soul.

Paula's work in applied psychoneuroimunology has led her to combine her knowledge of neurobiology  and the metaphors of symptoms, dream symbols and movement into a rich and deeply meaningful personal psychospiritual experience for each individual. This program will be especially meaningful to anyone working with a chronic illness or symptom. She will use material from her very insightful book Heart Sense to open our relationship with the healing intensions of the heart and the multiple ways the heart "speaks" for the Self. Heart Sense has been used with Cardiac Recovery Groups as a guide for deeper healing.

Future Plans

In late 2007 or early 2008 Paula is planning a retreat to four day Residential Retreat to Chartres Cathedral in France. There the pilgrims will enter into an embodied experience with the labyrinth and the many images of the sacred feminine that fill the sanctuary and the crypt. She will teach about the ancient practice of the labyrinth as the "Intuitive Table" whose radiant magnetic energies "dance" the pilgrim toward a cellular relationship with the Self.

Paula will return to the Sophia Institute in Charleston for a weekend bringing the images of Anne, Mary and Mary Magdalene alive in the bodysoul through movement and self reflection.

Additionally Paula will be producing a CD of the Eros and Psyche Myth--Lighting the Forbidden Lamp as told in Ireland in 2006. If you have never heard her tell this story from the perspective of the individuation and growth of the deep feminine and the creative masculine under the guidance of the primal feminine--of Aphrodite--you will want to own this CD.
